Now, the Haverkamp LV40 is available in 416 stainless steel in addition to our original 4140 chrome moly. The receiver is rough machined, stress relieved, hardened and tempered, and final machining is done after heat treating. This keeps the receiver straight and true.
Hardness is Rockwell C40-41—the hardest stainless custom action available. This results in less wear, longer life and less thread galling. Final polishing is by buffing; no additional charge for polishing. There is no sand or bead blasting to hide flaws or tool marks.
The bolt is made from chrome moly steel to a hardness of Rockwell C42-43. All bolts have spiral fluting. Plunger style ejector is standard, but can be ordered without ejector if so desired. You can choose right, left, or dual port designs.
Scope rails are available in dovetail for Kelbly/Davidson-style mounts, and in Picatinny style, both straight and tapered to 20MOA. These stainless steel scope rails are hardened and tempered, then precision ground.
